Poetry – My Notebook

I carry a notebook with me all the time,
In case I am thinking and come up with a rhyme,

You see I like to write things every now and again,
Instead of voicing me thoughts I write them down with my pen,

Sometimes people won’t give me the time of day,
And I’ve found I can speak whenever in this way,

No one can argue or offer up a rebuke,
With questions at zero and comments at few,

To think my thoughts out is what this is about,
So I can see how they sound before they come out,

It helps me only speak what I know that I should,
Because as they say “a closed mouth gathers no foot”.
